Meeting Summary:
The Indianapolis based Dry Products Plant of Eli Lilly and Company utilizes multiple technologies for producing final drug product. The IndryDry facility, which employees about 200 employees, utilizes dry mixing and dry granulation technologies for making commercial final drug product like Effient and Prozac daily into coated tablet or capsule form. IndyDry also served as the launch facility from 2006 – 2014 for new drug products which introduced challenges for containment and opportunities for improvement for a facility that built in 1975.
Presenter:
Erin Lewis is a 1998 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health Science. She is currently a senior associate Industrial Hygienist with Lilly Development but served as the as the safety rep/Industrial Hygienist for IndyDry from 2005-2015 where she was actively involved with the facility and containment upgrades that occurred in IndyDry during that time frame.
