Student Section Business

AIHA Indiana is a proud sponsor of the Purdue AIHA student section.  The following video provides important information regarding student local section operation and student opportunities.  All new officers are highly encouraged to watch the following training video.

Local Section Student Membership

All students from local Universities are awarded free access to AIHA Indiana member benefits and free entry to all local section events.

Student Section Sponsorship

Student members of the Purdue Industrial Hygiene Student Association (PIHSA) are eligible for participation-based scholarships. The "Dr. Neil Zimmerman Student Service Awards" are awarded to three Purdue University students that accrue the most participation points in a year. The point system is based on participation in student, local, and national AIHA activities. To be eligible for the award, the student must be a member of PIHSA, attend the Annual Fall Student Night in Indianapolis, and attend the Annual Spring Awards Ceremony in West Lafayette. Each student is responsible for tracking their own participation, which is validated by  student section records. A monetary award and certificate is presented to the top three students at the Annual Spring Awards Ceremony.

American Industrial Hygiene Foundation Scholarships

The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation offers scholarships to both graduate and undergraduate students each year. The deadline for this application is usually around March. Please take the time to review your eligibility for these scholarships.

Other Occupational Health Scholarships

Each year, many other health-related awards and scholarships are offered to students. These awards are a tremendous opportunity to improve your resume and pay for college. Please take the time to review your eligibility for these scholarships.
