Speaker: Tim Maley, Deputy Commissioner of Labor, Indiana DOL
Meeting Summary:
Tim Maley, will present on the following topics:
1) VPP overview (program details, update on numbers of sites, mentoring roles, benefits to VPP, etc.)
2) SGE opportunities / training
3) Current enforcement initiatives / focus areas
4) Recent inspection highlights / most common citations, etc.
This is a great opportunity to hear current information and insights from the manager of both IOSHA and VPP within the Indiana Department of Labor.
Presenter:
Tim Maley is a 1982 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He worked for the pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis for 30 years spending most of his time there in safety management. While at Lilly, he led the Lilly Technology Center (a large multi-business drug development and manufacturing site) to OSHA’s VPP Merit certification, VPP STAR Certification and VPP STAR re-certification. During this time Lilly experienced significant accident reduction.
Tim served on the VPPPA Region 5 Board of Directors for 5 years both as a Director at Large and Vice Chairperson.
After employment with Lilly, Tim worked as a Senior Safety Consultant with Advanced Worksite Solutions. During this time he partnered with businesses to provide injury reduction management systems and solutions.
Tim presently serves as the Deputy Commissioner of Labor for the State of Indiana managing both Indiana OSHA construction and general industry compliance divisions and the Indiana Voluntary Protection Program.
